Do any of you girls have Acrylic Gel Nails?

Any Nail Techs out there? I just had a full set put on a couple of days ago! I just wanted to know if you know, if it would mess up the nails in any way, if you put Clear Topcoat on top of the Gel Nails, to freshen up the shine, if the shine begins to get a little dull or if it's ok to do that! Thanks!Do any of you girls have Acrylic Gel Nails?
I'm not sure what you mean by 'acrylic gel' nails? They are either acrylic, or UV gel. Anyway, you won't mess up your nails by using clear topcoat but if they are real UV gel nails, they should stay shiny for about two weeks.

How to tell the difference? If the technician used any liquid and powder on your nails, they are acrylic nails - not gel. UV gel nails are made from - as the name implies, gel that is similar to the consistency of a hair gel. Gels are never a powder though many salons will try to tell you its ';powder gel.'; Sorry, but there is no such thing as powder gel!

Assuming that you have real UV gel nails, do NOT buff them as suggested by another answer. This will most definitely ruin the shine and there is nothing you can do at home to restore that shine unless you have a UV lamp and some UV top gloss or sealer. Never buff UV gel nails.Do any of you girls have Acrylic Gel Nails?
Hi there

Yes hun, using a clear topcoat over your gel nails will be fine and won't mess them up. You might want to get yourself a three way buffer as well though as if they do become a little dull, instead of getting the topcoat out, buff them up.
no its not good my parents r pros and its not good if they start to get dull that means its going to start to get yellow and ugly so u should just go to a cheap nail salon and do them over
That's fine. Go for it.
