How do i get gel nails off?

i got gel nails because my friend wanted to get them done for her birthday but i really hate them and i don't know how to get them off. If you have to buy anything to get them off then is there anyway of making them look less noticeable and just like painted nails? How do i get gel nails off?
If they are real UV gel nails - and not acrylic, then you must file them off. They will not soak off in acetone or any other solvent such as polish remover the way that acrylic nails do. If the tech used any liquid and powder on your nails, you have acrylic nails, not gel. Gel looks exactly as the name implies - it is a gel. It is never a powder. Lots of salons, especially the cheaper ones apply acrylic nails and tell you they are gel. Some go as far as saying 'it gel powder.' Sorry, no such thing as gel 'powder.'How do i get gel nails off?
Use nail polish remover or some other substance with alot of acetone in it. Soak your nails in that for a while, then try to gently push them off with a nail tool, only push a little just so it will loosen. Continue doing this everyday and they should come off soon without wrecking your real nails.

Much love.
If they're UV, You need to file them off....If not, Just Soak your nails in pure acetone, and then use something to get the nail off.
Soak them in acetone nail-polish remover
Soak them in acetone...but do this for short periods and then use cuticle nipper to loosen it up. This will take a little while but it wont kill your nail beds
