Is gel nails healtheir than acrylic nails?

well i am going to the salon and i'm wondering if gel nails are better for my normall nails. allso will gel nail create fungus? Is gel nails healtheir than acrylic nails?
I had both acrylic and gel nails... At the moment i have gel nails and these are healthier and last longer. Acrylic nails take less time to do than the gels but acrylic smells like thinner while the gels are odourless...

All type of fake nails need to be periodically stopped from doing, in order to strengthen your natural nailsIs gel nails healtheir than acrylic nails?
i have heard that some acrylic nails acan create skin rashes wherever you touch yourself alot with the nails
acrylics vs. gel; acrylics and gel are basicly the same thing, acrylics, or l%26amp;p (liquid and powder) consists of two fazes, a liquid and a powder, that start to cure (dry) as soon as they are mixed, to cure they need heat (the body temperature is enough). Gels don't need mixing and they cure with U.V. ligth so you can work with it untill you place it under an U.V lightbox, or any other source of U.V (like the sun), it cures faster than acrylics (about 2 min). The removal process is also diferent, acrylics can be taken of by soaking them in acetone, when gel usually has to be filled of. Some people might prefer some system over the other. Acrylic tend to be stonger while gels might give a more natural look.

Pros and Cons!!

As a nail technician I am constantly trying to find better and safer products for my clients. When I studied my course we were taught how to apply acrylic nails but I soon discovered the benefits of Gel Nails. Gel nails provide a faster, easier and safer way of having nail extensions. Faster because there is less filing and no fiddling around with powders and liquid, easier because gel is just a uv gel that is painted on to the nail and cured under a uv lamp, and safer because there is less filing there is less chance of burns or cuts from files. The cost to have gels is around the same as acrylics and last just as long or longer, if you shop around or look in the community advertisements you may find them cheaper. All salons should provide Gel Nails as an alternative to acrylic so it shouldn't be hard to find. Enjoy!!!
idk. but like people said, acrylic broke me out soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo bad. i was scratching everywhere! i had warps everywhere! and i couldn't wait to get them off because all that bacteria can build up under the nail. get gel.

**hope this helps you!!**

I think that it's a matter of preference of appearance over which type of nail that you like better. I think that the gel nails also look whiter than the acrylic nails. Either type of nail would have the possibility of fungal infection, as they could trap fungus between your natural nail and the artificial one. Keep an eye out for black or green discoloration under the nail.
